Casas joined the Red Sox's player pool Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Casas is an interesting prospect, but he's highly unlikely to help the Red Sox this season, as he's played just two games above Low-A. Still, getting the chance to work with the team's coaching staff will be important for the 2018 first-round pick's development this season. In 118 games at Low-A Greenville last year, Casas hit .254/.349/.472 with 19 homers.
