Quantrill (8-9) took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over five innings against the Nationals. He struck out four.
Quantrill retired the side in order during three of his five frames, with the lone blemish against his line coming in the third inning when he allowed one walk and a couple of singles, capped by a two-out base knock by James Wood that drove in two. It was just the third time in Quantrill's past 11 starts that he's completed five innings with two or fewer runs allowed. During that stretch, Quantrill has a 2-5 record with a 6.41 ERA and 1.59 WHIP and 45 strikeouts over 53.1 innings. He's next scheduled to face the Marlins in the high altitude of Coors Field.
