Rockies' Sean Sullivan: Awarded another start
Sullivan (illness) will start Wednesday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The Rockies called Sullivan up from Triple-A Albuquerque last Friday to fill the fifth spot in their rotation. Despite being tasked with making his MLB debut in an extreme hitter-friendly venue in Las Vegas, Sullivan was able to keep the Athletics off the board for three innings while striking out three batters and allowing just three baserunners. The 23-year-old lefty ended up having his start cut short after falling ill, but he's since recovered from the ailment and performed well enough during his time on the mound to earn himself another turn through the rotation. Even though he excelled in his debut and will be pitching in a more favorable environment for his second start, Sullivan will still be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes after he posted underwhelming numbers over a larger sample at Triple-A (5.76 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 50:19 K:BB in 54.2 innings).

Rockies' Cole Carrigg: Lifts third homer Monday
Carrigg went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs.
Carrigg was credited with driving in all four of his club's runs, as he drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning before cranking a three-run homer in the eighth frame to give the Rockies a lead they would ultimately squander. The early returns on the rookie have been positive, as he has gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three homers, a triple, eight RBI, six runs and three walks through seven games. Carrigg has yet to attempt a steal, though he's known for his activity on the basepaths after swiping 29 bags in 57 games with Triple-A Albuquerque prior to being promoted.

Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Charged with blown save
Halvorsen blew the save in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs. He allowed two inherited runners to score on a hit and a walk without recording an out.
Entering with the bases loaded, no outs and the Rockies clinging to a one-run lead in the ninth inning, Halvorsen gave up an RBI single to Pedro Ramirez before walking Matt Shaw to bring in the game-winning run. While the runs were charged to Juan Mejia's line and he was saddled with the loss, Halvorsen was credited with the blown save in his first save situation of the season. The right-hander has split time between Triple-A Albuquerque and Colorado in 2026, posting a 3.31 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 16:14 K:BB across 16.1 innings with the big-league club.

Rockies' Michael Lorenzen: Settles for no-decision Monday
Lorenzen did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out five.
After allowing a leadoff homer to Pete Crow-Armstrong, Lorenzen worked through the rest of his outing without allowing any further damage. In what has been a difficult season for the veteran right-hander, he has now turned in back-to-back respectable starts, allowing one run across five innings in each outing. Lorenzen will take a 2-8 record with a 7.13 ERA and 1.85 WHIP across 70.2 innings (16 appearances) into his next outing, tentatively slated for Sunday against the Pirates.

Rockies' Troy Johnston: Bowing out of starting nine
Johnston is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
After going 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, four RBI and three runs in Sunday's 23-9 win while lefty Jeffrey Springs started for the Athletics, the left-handed-hitting Johnston will head to the bench for Monday's matchup with southpaw Shota Imanaga. Johnston will give up his spot in the lineup to Jake McCarthy (illness), who will return to the starting nine after sitting in the past five games.

Rockies' Eiberson Castellano: Jettisoned to minors
The Rockies optioned Castellano to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Castellano picked up a save in Sunday's 23-9 blowout win over the Athletics with three scoreless frames in his major-league debut. He's clearing off the roster to make room for the return of Victor Vodnik (elbow) from the injured list. Castellano is likely to be used as a starting pitcher and/or bulk reliever at Albuquerque.

Rockies' Victor Vodnik: Rejoins Colorado bullpen
The Rockies activated Vodnik (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
Vodnik is fully recovered from the ulnar nerve inflammation in his right elbow that sent him to the IL in late May, getting clearance to return after making two scoreless rehab appearances at Triple-A Albuquerque. The 26-year-old had yielded 14 runs over nine innings covering his last 10 outings before going on the IL, so the Rockies seem unlikely to utilize Vodnik in high-leverage situations right out of the chute. Eventually, though, Vodnik could get another chance at close if he pitches well. He still leads the Rockies with four saves this season despite missing nearly a month of action.

Rockies' Jake McCarthy: Returning to lineup
McCarthy (illness) will start in left field and bat seventh in Monday's game versus the Cubs.
McCarthy didn't start any of the previous five contests as he battled back from an illness, though he appeared as a pinch runner in one of those tilts. The 28-year-old had made 23 consecutive starts prior to the aforementioned five-game absence from the lineup.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Three hits in return
Tovar went 3-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Tovar missed a couple of games due to calf soreness. The shortstop played the bulk of this blowout, though Edouard Julien was brought in at second base with Willi Castro moving over to short in the eighth inning. It looks like Tovar should be good to handle a starting role again moving forward. He's hitting .231 (9-for-39) in June, and he's up to .218 on the year with a .605 OPS, five home runs, 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, 14 doubles and four stolen bases over 67 contests.

Rockies' Kyle Karros: Delivers four hits in win
Karros went 4-for-6 with a double, two RBI and four runs scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Karros was one of seven Rockies to collect multiple hits, and one of three to pile up at least four knocks. The third baseman has batted .375 (15-for-40) in June, with five of his hits going for extra bases, though he's added just four RBI. Overall, he's hitting .246 with a .703 OPS, three home runs, 19 RBI, 32 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and two stolen bases over 68 contests. Even as a Colorado hitter, the lack of power makes him a tough sell in fantasy.

Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Goes deep in big win
Rumfield went 2-for-6 with a solo home run, a triple, a second RBI and a second run scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Rumfield has gone 9-for-20 (.450) with two homers, four doubles and five RBI during a five-game hitting streak. His blast Sunday provided the final run of this high-scoring contest. For the season, the first baseman is batting .280 with an .826 OPS, nine homers, 34 RBI, 31 runs scored, 14 doubles and two triples over 69 contests. He has yet to attempt a stolen base in the majors.

Rockies' Troy Johnston: Supplies four RBI
Johnston went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk, four total RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
This was Johnston's third multi-hit effort in his last four games. The homer was his first since April 6 versus the Astros. Johnston hasn't developed over-the-fence power this year even with a hitter-friendly home park, but he has been among the Rockies' most consistent batters. He's hitting .317 with an .822 OPS, three homers, 34 RBI, 30 runs scored, 21 doubles and four stolen bases over 67 games in a near-everyday role, though Johnston may see fewer opportunities versus left-handers once Tyler Freeman (concussion) is back in action.

Rockies' Willi Castro: Drives in seven in blowout win
Castro went 4-for-6 with a pair of home runs, a walk, seven RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Castro made a huge impact out of the leadoff spot as the ball flew out of Las Vegas Ballpark. Castro's first homer was a two-run blast in the second inning, and he added a grand slam in the eighth. The seven RBI were a single-game career high for the utility man. He has gone 14-for-42 (.333) in June and is now batting .278 with a .752 OPS, five homers, 29 RBI, 31 runs scored, 11 doubles and five stolen bases over 60 contests this season.

Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Reaches 20-homer mark
Goodman went 5-for-6 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Goodman had gone 0-for-13 with nine strikeouts over his previous three games. He put that slump to rest with a first-inning homer, and he added another long ball in the fifth, accounting for two of the Rockies' six blasts in this blowout win. Goodman has had few slumps this season, but he's otherwise been a reliable power-hitting catcher. He's batting .250 with an .857 OPS, 20 homers, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored, 12 doubles and five stolen bases over 66 contests.

Rockies' Eiberson Castellano: Picks up save in big-league debut
Castellano allowed four hits and hit a batter while striking out two and walking none over three scoreless innings to earn the save in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Athletics.
Castellano's big-league debut saw him mop up the last three innings of a blowout win to preserve the rest of the Rockies' bullpen. The 25-year-old has had a strong effort in the minors this season, posting a 2.72 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 53:27 K:BB across 53 innings over 10 starts for Double-A Hartford. He also made a scoreless six-inning relief appearance at Triple-A Albuquerque before his call-up to the majors Saturday. Castellano threw 35 pitches (24 strikes) in Sunday's outing, so he may be able to stick around the big club rather than being immediately optioned out again. He's in the bullpen for now, but if he thrives in a multi-inning role, he could be a candidate for spot starts later in the year.

Rockies' Tomoyuki Sugano: Gets win in slugfest
Sugano (7-4) allowed eight runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings to pick up the win over the Athletics on Sunday.
Sugano didn't pitch well, but he left the game with the Rockies leading 14-8. He was tagged for just one home run, but this was still his worst start of the season despite the silver lining of a victory. He's at a 4.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 41:22 K:BB through 73.1 innings over 14 starts. Sugano's 4.65 ERA at home is actually a little better than the 4.89 mark he has on the road after this outing in Las Vegas. He's still risky regardless of venue, and his next start is projected to be at home versus the Pirates.
