Tovar went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and four total RBI in Tuesday's 9-8 loss to the Marlins.
Tovar had just one homer while batting .178 over his first 21 games in August. He sat out Monday due to a sports hernia, and it appears the rest did him some good, though it helps the Rockies are facing the Marlins. Tovar is up to 21 homers, 59 RBI, 71 runs scored, four stolen bases, 38 doubles and a .274/.298/.470 slash line through 128 contests overall. It wouldn't be surprising for Tovar to see more regular rest days if his sports hernia flares up again.
