Marquez allowed six hits while walking one and striking out eight over six shutout innings for a no-decision in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
This outing, Marquez's second, was much better than his first, when he allowed eight runs in four innings to the Nationals last Tuesday. His eight punchouts were a good sign for the hard-throwing right-hander, and his control was much better this time out. The 22-year-old must show more consistency in order to prove he deserves a rotation spot, though, and fantasy owners should remain hesitant to deploy him as a spot starter, especially when he throws at Coors Field.
