Marquez was placed on the 10-day injured list with right arm inflammation Monday.
The severity of the issue is not yet clear. The transaction has been made retroactive to Friday, so he'll be eligible to return as soon as next Monday should he prove healthy enough to do so. The Rockies have yet to announce who will take his scheduled start Tuesday against the Red Sox.
