Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
The Rockies will go with Brett Sullivan behind the plate and Jake McCarthy at designated hitter while Goodman rests up for the series finale. Goodman had started in all but one of the Rockies' first 13 games out of the All-Star break, slashing .289/.360/.711 with six home runs, 14 RBI and seven runs over that stretch.
