Goodman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a double Tuesday in an 8-7 victory versus Washington.
Goodman snapped a 7-7 tie with a solo blast in the eighth inning, producing what ended up being the winning run. The All-Star catcher has five hits in 16 at-bats since the midseason break, with all five knocks (four homers and a double) going for extra bases. Goodman's homer Tuesday was his 31st of the season in his 94th game, tying the career-high mark he established over 144 contests last year.

Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Explodes for three homers
Goodman went 3-for-4 with three home runs and five RBI in Sunday's 9-6 loss to the Reds.
Goodman accounted for nearly all of Colorado's offense, taking Hunter Greene deep twice for the only three runs the right-hander allowed before adding a third homer off Sam Moll in the eighth inning. All three blasts were no-doubt shots, traveling 425, 435 and 442 feet. The catcher became the first player in Rockies history to record two three-homer games in the same season and now has 30 long balls on the year. He's slashing .257/.326/.561 and trails only Kyle Schwarber (33) for the National League home-run lead.

Goodman was a force to be reckoned with in the win, producing the first three-homer game of his career. None of the long balls were cheap shots -- each was estimated at over 400 feet. Goodman has racked up four homers and eight RBI over his past two games, and he now leads all MLB catchers with 25 home runs on the season. The Rockies record for homers in a campaign is 49 (set by Larry Walker in 1997 and Todd Helton in 2002), and given that the team is only 83 games into the current season, Goodman has a legitimate chance of challenging that franchise mark if he keeps up a similar pace.

Goodman delivered his home run in the top of the ninth inning, giving the Rockies a brief lead in the contest. Goodman wrapped up the Rockies' six-game road trip with a homer. He went 8-for-25 (.320) with three homers and six RBI during the trip.
