Bryant (back) took batting practice prior to Friday's game against the Rangers, MLB.com reports.
Bryant began the session cautiously, just getting the ball out of the infield. However, he was able to pull the ball over the fence by his final swings, a positive sign for his recovery. There hasn't been a date set yet, but Bryant is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon.
