The Tigers activated Carpenter (foot) from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Carpenter missed the final 56 games of the season with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He also spent time on the injured list earlier in the season with a shoulder injury. Carpenter appeared in just 81 games last season and slashed an abysmal .208/.276/.416 with 13 home runs, 36 RBI, 27 runs scored and an 18:75 BB:K across 259 plate appearances. The .692 OPS was the lowest single-season mark of Carpenter's career.
