Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Minnesota's matchup with the White Sox on Friday.
As Buxton continues to manage discomfort in his right hip, he will sit out the series opener against the White Sox. Top prospect Walker Jenkins will make his major-league debut in center field and bat ninth in place of Buxton for Minnesota on Friday.
