Buxton went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 16-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Buxton had struggled to get in on the hit parade until he lifted a grand slam in the fifth inning. The Twins ran their tally up to 16 by the end of the frame, and Buxton was lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth. The outfielder has gone 18-for-50 (.360) with seven homers and 13 RBI over his last 13 contests. For the season, he's hitting .273 with a .927 OPS, 24 homers, 40 RBI, 52 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 66 contests. Buxton went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-4 win versus the Tigers.

It's the 20th homer of the season for the two-time All-Star and the third time he's reached that threshold during his MLB career. The center fielder returned to the lineup Tuesday after he sustained a shoulder bruise from a collision with the outfield wall last week, and he's homered in his first two games back from the injury.

  • Twins' Byron Buxton: Resting up Sunday

Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Since returning to the lineup May 19, Buxton has made all but one of his 10 starts at designated hitter and has gone 10-for-39 (.256 average) with two home runs, three doubles, four RBI and seven runs. The Twins haven't indicated when Buxton might be ready to play center field on a full-time basis, but fantasy managers can feel comfortable with keeping him active while he's still seeing regular at-bats at DH.
