Mastroianni (oblique) was in the original lineup for Triple-A Rochester's game Saturday, but didn't end up playing, according to Brandon Warne of Cold Omaha reports.
Mastroianni reported to Rochester on Friday to begin a rehabilitation assignment, but hasn't yet appeared in a game for the Red Wings.
