Wade was optioned to the Twins' alternate training site Tuesday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Wade has served as a reserve outfielder at times this season but has played very infrequently, grabbing three hits in 15 at-bats. With Byron Buxton returning from a shoulder injury in a corresponding move, Wade is no longer needed even in that minor role.
