Pestano was released from his contract with the Yankees on Tuesday, LoHud.com reports.
Pestano hadn't pitched since April after landing on the minor league disabled list, but he's now healthy and free to sign with a new team. In eight appearances this season, the 31-year-old worked to a 3.38 ERA with an impressive 16:1 K:BB over 10.2 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
