Sale allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Royals.

Sale has now thrown four consecutive quality starts, all on the road, but has gone 0-3 in this stretch thanks to a lack of run support. He is now up to 150 strikeouts in 154 innings this season, giving him an 8.9 K/9 that would be impressive for any other starting pitcher, but is well below Sale's standards. He had a 10.8 K/9 in 2014 and an 11.8 K/9 last season, and as things are going now, he will finish with his first season in which he failed to strike out at least as many batters as he has innings pitched.
