Anderson is not in the lineup Friday against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The rookie hasn't had a day off since September 2, so he'll head to the bench for a day off. Tyler Saladino will take over for Anderson at shortstop for the night.
