Montgomery allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks in a 6-2 loss to Kansas City on Tuesday. He struck out six and didn't factor into the decision.
Montgomery was brilliant in this one, working into the seventh inning while allowing only two baserunners in the contest. The bullpen took over and promptly blew the game, so Montgomery was stuck with the no-decision. Still, it was a promising effort from the young southpaw, who saw his ERA drop to 4.30 on the season. He'll make his next start Sunday at home against Oakland.
