Abad signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Thursday. Abad was cut loose by the Rockies earlier this month but has quickly found a new home. The veteran left-hander has spent most of his season at Triple-A, posting a 4.26 ERA and 2:3 K:BB over 6.1 innings during his brief time at the big-league level.

The Rockies released Abad on Tuesday. Abad has bounced back and forth between the Rockies and Triple-A Albuquerque this season but will now get to explore his options elsewhere. The 37-year-old left-hander sports a career 3.78 ERA over parts of 11 seasons in the big leagues.

Abad was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Abad tossed 1.1 scoreless innings Tuesday versus the Astros to earn his first major-league win since 2017, but a day later he's off the roster. The veteran reliever can elect free agency if he wants, assuming he clears waivers.

The Rockies selected Abad's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. The veteran left-hander joined Colorado on a minor-league deal in late May, and he'll now join the big club after he posted a 1.40 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 28:2 K:BB across 21 outings with Albuquerque. Abad last pitched in the majors during 2021 with Baltimore and had a 5.60 ERA in 17.2 frames.

Abad re-signed with the Rockies on a minor-league contract Tuesday. Abad elected free agency after being removed from the Rockies' 40-man roster earlier this month, but he's now back in the organization. He'll report to Triple-A Albuquerque where he'll serve as left-handed relief depth.
