The 36-year-old belted a two-run shot in the ninth inning off Matt Festa to cut into the lead. Perez launched his first homer since Sept. 6 against Toronto on Thursday against the White Sox. The 36-year-old took David Sandlin deep in the fourth inning to put the Royals on the board. This year, Perez has slashed .228/.272/.378 with 20 homers and 75 RBI in 615 plate appearances.

Perez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh. Perez will take a day to regroup after going 0-for-12 with three strikeouts over his last three games. Jac Caglianone (hand) will work as the DH on Saturday, opening up right field for John Rave.
