Now with his fourth organization since that career-best 2019 season, Workman was forced to settle for a minor-league deal over the winter and didn't distinguish himself in spring training to make a case for a spot in the Rangers' Opening Day bullpen. He'll likely begin the season in the bullpen at Triple-A Round Rock.

Workman elected free agency in early August after spending time with the Cubs and Red Sox in 2021. The 33-year-old will serve as a non-roster invitee this spring, and he'll likely be in the mix for a low-leverage role in the Rangers' bullpen.
