Dean re-signed Friday with the LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports. The new deal is worth $1.1 million in guaranteed money and there is another $200,000 available in performance-based bonuses. Dean, 30, excelled in his first taste of KBO action this past year, slashing .314/.376/.517 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI across 139 games. He had a .228/.286/.390 slash line over parts of five MLB seasons between 2018-22.

Dean was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday. After being sent down by the Giants in September, Dean will lose his spot on the 40-man roster now that the offseason is underway. It's possible he serves as a non-roster invitee this spring.

Dean was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday. Dean's first stint in the big leagues this season lasted only a few days, as he went 3-for-8 with a walk and a run scored over three contests. Willie Calhoun and Cole Waites had their contracts selected and Patrick Mazeika was designated for assignment in corresponding moves.

Dean had his contract selected by the Giants and will start in left field Friday against the Cubs, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. Dean was claimed off waivers by the Giants in November and will now receive his first look with the big-league club. The 28-year-old has played in 104 games for Triple-A Sacramento this year and has an .800 OPS with 16 home runs and 51 RBI, and he could operate as a small-side platoon option in the outfield for San Francisco.
