  • Nationals' Ryne Harper: Handed second loss
    By RotoWire

Harper (0-2) failed to record an out while taking the loss Tuesday versus Atlanta. He allowed two runs on tow hits and a walk. The reliever gave up a two-run home run to Ozzie Albies in the seventh inning, and he then exited the game after yielding a double to Jorge Soler. Harper has produced 12 scoreless appearances since the start of August, but he's given up seven runs in two-thirds of an inning in the three games where he's allowed runs. His ERA ticked up to 2.61 with a 0.97 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 31 innings this season. The 32-year-old will likely continue to work mainly in a low-leverage role.

  • Nationals' Ryne Harper: Picks up first loss
    By RotoWire

Harper (0-1) allowed one hit and two earned runs over a third of an inning, taking the loss in Saturday's 5-3 defeat to the Mets. Harper entered the game in the seventh inning and allowed the first two batters he faced to reach via a single and a hit by pitch. After Patrick Mazeika popped out, Harper was pulled from the game in favor of Mason Thompson, who promptly gave up a three-run homer to Michael Conforto. Thus, Harper got credited with both a hold and a loss on the night. Even with the added damage, the right-hander still carries a 2.36 ERA into play on Sunday.
