Gore rejected an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and elected free agency Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Gore joined the Mets on a minor-league deal in June and joined the big-league club at the end of August. He saw regular-season action in the majors for the first time since 2019 and went 1-for-7 with a run scored and three stolen bases in 10 games.

Gore pinch ran, stole a base and scored a run in a 7-3 win Sunday over the Pirates. Gore entered the game in the eighth inning as a pinch runner for Tomas Nido. He promptly stole second base and advanced to third on a throwing error, scoring later on a single by Brandon Nimmo. Since joining the Mets on Sept. 1, Gore has pinch run three times, stealing a base each time. He has 43 stolen bases while compiling just 79 plate appearances in his eight-year big-league career.

The Mets selected Gore's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Gore inked a minor-league deal with the Mets in early June and will join the big-league club for the stretch run. The speedy outfielder hasn't seen game action in the regular season since 2019, but he could be a solid defensive and baserunning option off the bench for New York's playoff push.

Gore signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Wednesday, Jacob Resnick of SNY.tv reports. The outfielder last appeared with the Braves during their postseason run in 2021, but his last plate appearance in a regular-season game came in 2019 with the Royals. Known for his speed, Gore has 40 stolen bases over 77 career plate appearances.

Gore was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. Gore typically finds himself in the minors for most if not all of the regular season before joining a playoff roster as a pinch runner. It looks like that will be the plan again heading into next season.
