  • The Brewers and Bauers avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday. Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the deal is for $2.7 million. Bauers re-signed with the Brewers on a minor-league deal last offseason before slashing .235/.353/.399 with seven home runs over 85 regular-season contests. The left-handed-hitting Bauers should see semi-regular reps between first base, left field and designated hitter against right-handed pitching in 2026.

  • Bauers will start in left field and bat eighth in Thursday's NLCS Game 3 versus the Dodgers. Bauers drew the start in left field in Game 2 and went 0-for-3 at the dish, but he'll get another opportunity in Game 3 as the series moves to Los Angeles. The 30-year-old Bauers was one of the Brewers' best hitters down the stretch of the regular season, slashing .360/.458/.560 with a pair of home runs in September. He's gone 3-for-8 with one home run, one double and a 1:1 BB:K in four games this postseason.

  • Bauers will start at first base and bat seventh Wednesday in Game 3 of the NLDS versus the Cubs. Bauers was limited to just one pinch-hitting appearance in the first two games of the series, drawing a walk in that trip to the dish. He'll get a chance to start Wednesday against Cubs righty Jameson Taillon as the Brewers look to advance to the NLCS.

  • Bauers is not in the lineup for Monday's game in San Diego. Bauers had a recent stretch with four straight starts at first base, but he'll yield the position to Andrew Vaughn on Monday for the fifth time across the last seven tilts. The 29-year-old Bauers did draw one start in left field during the latter stretch, but he looks to have fallen back behind Vaughn on the first-base depth chart.

    By RotoWire

Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
