• Blue Jays' James Kaprielian: Minor-league contract with Toronto

  The Blue Jays signed Kaprielian to a minor-league contract on April 14. Kaprielian had surgery last August to repair the posterior labrum in his right shoulder. It's not clear exactly where he is in the recovery process, but the right-hander has not yet made an appearance at a minor-league affiliate in 2024. Kaprielian, 30, has posted a 4.61 ERA and 282:133 K:BB over 318 innings in parts of four seasons at the major-league level.

  Kaprielian (shoulder) cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Kaprielian had been on the 60-day injured list following surgery in August to repair the posterior labrum in his right shoulder. It's not clear how long his rehab is expected to take, but the right-hander will have to prove his health and earn his way back onto the 40-man roster.

  Kaprielian (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday. Kaprielian underwent shoulder surgery earlier this month, and the A's ultimately moved him to the longest of the injured lists to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. He has been ruled out for the season, so his focus will be on getting ready to pitch again at some point in 2024.

  Kaprielian underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to repair the posterior labrum in his right shoulder, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Kaprielian has been on the shelf since late June because of a right shoulder strain and is now officially done for the remainder of the 2023 campaign. The 29-year-old finishes with a 2-6 record, 6.34 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 57:31 K:BB in 11 starts and three relief appearances covering 61 innings.

• Athletics' James Kaprielian: Visits specialist for shoulder

  Kaprielian visited with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles earlier this week for an evaluation on his right shoulder and remains shut down from all throwing, the team's official site reports. The right-hander's stay on the injured list has now exceeded one month, and from the sound of this latest report, it appears set to extend through the first half of August, at minimum. The team is expected to provide more detail on Kaprielian's conditions Tuesday before the start of a three-game series with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
