  Hoskins went 3-for-3 with two home runs and two RBI in Saturday's spring game. Hoskins homered in his first appearance of the spring and put two more long balls on the board Saturday. He remains the top option at first base for the Brewers and will be looking to bounce back in both the batting average and OPS departments after posting career-low .214 and .722 marks, respectively, in those categories in 2024.

  Hoskins exercised his $18 million player option for 2025 on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. It's possible Hoskins could have netted a multi-year deal on the open market, but it's unlikely he would have been able to top an average annual salary of $18 million. In his first year back from ACL surgery, Hoskins slashed .214/.303/.419with 26 home runs across 131 games for the Brewers. Slated to turn 32 in March, Hoskins should be Milwaukee's primary first baseman again in 2025, with some starts at designated hitter mixed in.

  Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's 8-4 win against the Mets. The 31-year-old opened the game's scoring by slugging a 386-foot grand slam in the opening frame off Sean Manaea. This marks the fifth grand slam of Hoskins' career and third this season. He now sports a .215/.303/.422 slash line with 26 homers, 82 RBI and 58 runs across 513 plate appearances this season.
