  • Rockies' Kyle Holder: Joins Rockies
    By RotoWire

Holder signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Dec. 15. Holder's deal likely includes an invitation to big-league spring training, whenever that might be held while MLB's lockout remains ongoing. A 2015 first-round pick of the Yankees, Holder advanced to Triple-A for the first time in his career in 2021. The 27-year-old infielder saw action in 78 games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, slashing .216/.295/.272 with a home run and two stolen bases across 287 plate appearances.

  • Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre activated Holder (knee) from its 7-day injured list Thursday, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports. Holder had been held out of action for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since May 12 due to the knee injury. Prior to getting shut down, the 27-year-old infielder went 4-for-23 over his seven games with the affiliate.

  • Yankees' Kyle Holder: Sent back to Yankees
    By RotoWire

Holder was sent back to the Yankees and assigned to the team's alternate training site Tuesday. Holder was selected by the Phillies in the Rule 5 draft in December and flipped to the Reds in January. He failed to earn a roster spot in Cincinnati and will now be back with the club that drafted him. Holder will serve as organizational depth, but he won't likely be one of the team's top call-ups in the event of an injury, as he isn't on the 40-man roster.

  • Reds' Kyle Holder: Traded to Cincinnati
    By RotoWire

Holder was traded from the Phillies to the Reds on Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Holder, a first-round pick by the Yankees in 2015, was selected by Philadelphia in the Rule 5 draft last month. The 26-year-old has yet to play above Double-A, but he should have a better path toward major-league playing time in Cincinnati, especially after the Phillies re-signed Didi Gregorius on Saturday. If the Reds don't acquire a veteran shortstop ahead of the 2021 season, Holder could compete for the starting job in the big leagues during spring training.

  • Phillies' Kyle Holder: Popped by Phillies
    By RotoWire

The Phillies selected Holder with the 11th pick of the Rule 5 draft. A first-round pick by the Yankees in 2015, Holder is now 26 and has not played above Double-A. The infielder hit .265/.336/.405 with nine home runs and seven steals in 472 plate appearances at Double-A in 2019. He is a glove-first shortstop who will likely work as a defensive replacement in 2021 if the Phillies roster him for the entire season.
