Heredia agreed to a contract with the SSG Landers of the Korea Baseball Organization on Tuesday, Francys Romero of beisbolfr.com reports. Heredia was designated for assignment by Atlanta last week and has opted to continue his career overseas. The 31-year-old appeared in 74 games in 2022 and had a .158/.220/.342 slash line with three home runs and eight RBI.

Heredia was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday. Heredia hung around as short-side platoon option for Atlanta these past two seasons, but he fell out of favor after hitting .158 with a 39 percent strikeout in 74 games in 2022. He could be a non-roster invitee to spring training.

Heredia was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. Heredia was sent to the minors Sunday but will rejoin the major-league roster less than a week later after Ehire Adrianza (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list Friday. Heredia saw sporadic playing time prior to his demotion and will likely serve in a depth role now that he's back in the big leagues.

Heredia was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. The 31-year-old has appeared in only four games with seven plate appearances since the All-Star break, and he'll head to Triple-A to make room on the big-league roster for catcher Chadwick Tromp. Heredia has a .549 OPS in 47 games this year and could rejoin Atlanta down the stretch if the team needs outfield depth.

Heredia remains on the bench for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks. Heredia has picked up only three starts since June 2, and his playing-time outlook doesn't look to have improved even after Adam Duvall suffered a season-ending wrist injury. So long as all of Ronald Acuna, Eddie Rosario, Marcell Ozuna, Michael Harris and William Contreras are healthy, Heredia doesn't look like he'll have a path for even short-side platoon work out of the Atlanta outfield.
