  • Baddoo signed a one-year contract with the Brewers on Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Baddoo spent the majority of the 2025 campaign with the Tigers' Triple-A affiliate, where he slashed .281/.385/.481 with 15 homers, 48 RBI, 73 runs scored and 25 steals over 103 games. The 27-year-old outfielder will have a chance to earn a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster during spring training, though it's unlikely he lands a starting job over Isaac Collins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio.

  • Akil Baddoo: Becomes free agent
    By RotoWire

Baddoo elected to become a free agent Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Baddoo decided to accept an outright assignment by the Tigers back in June, but he had another opportunity to elect free agency after the season and has taken it. After putting up a .766 OPS in a promising rookie season in 2021, the 27-year-old has slashed just .201/.288/.323 since. Baddoo will get another chance elsewhere but might have to accept a minor-league contract.

  • The Tigers outrighted Baddoo to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Baddoo cleared waivers after being booted off the 40-man roster and has accepted an outright assignment rather than testing free agency. The outfielder is a career .224/.305/.369 hitter across parts of five major-league seasons.

  • The Tigers designated Baddoo for assignment on Friday. The 27-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in late May and has now lost his place on Detroit's 40-man roster. Baddoo had a .778 OPS in 30 games with Toledo but went 2-for-17 during his brief time with the big-league club.

  • Tigers' Akil Baddoo: Optioned to Triple-A
    By RotoWire

The Tigers optioned Baddoo to Triple-A Toledo following Friday's game against the Guardians. Baddoo was called up to the majors May 14 and appeared in seven games for the Tigers, going 2-for-17 with one steal and an RBI over that span. He'll head back to Triple-A and could receive another promotion should Detroit be in need of depth in the outfield. The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Casey Mize (hamstring), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.
