Yorke is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers. He will give up his spot in the Pittsburgh infield to Liover Peguero, who draws a second straight start at shortstop while Nick Gonzales serves as the Pirates' second baseman. Yorke had been included in the lineup in eight of the last nine games while picking up starts at second base, third base, right field and left field and batting .259 with a home run and two stolen bases.

Yorke will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Brewers. After making each of his last three starts at second base, Yorke will shift to the outfield Wednesday while normal right fielder Bryan De La Cruz gets a day off. Yorke reached on an infield single in his second trip to the plate before stealing second, though he was left stranded. He then recorded a clutch knock with two outs in the sixth and eventually came home on a three-run shot from Billy Cook as Pittsburgh took a 5-4 lead. The second baseman has now recorded multiple hits in back-to-back contests after going 0-for-3 in his Pirates debut Monday. His RBI and run scored on Wednesday also marked the firsts of his MLB career.

It didn't take him long to check off another first, as he had three singles in his second career game. The contact-oriented infielder should continue to get steady playing time down the stretch as the Pirates evaluate his major-league readiness for 2025. Yorke has started both of his big-league contests at second base, which could lead to Nick Gonzales being forced to share shortstop with Isiah Kiner-Falefa to finish the year.
