Frelick is expected to have a normal offseason after imaging on his left knee came back negative, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Frelick initially tweaked his knee in early May and battled through soreness off and on for the rest of the season, though he never went on the injured list because of the knee issue. He's expected to arrive for spring training at 100 percent after getting some extended rest over the offseason. Frelick had his best season at the plate in 2025, slashing .288/.351/.405 with 12 homers and 19 stolen bases.

Frelick isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds. The Brewers will use a matchup against southpaw Andrew Abbott as a chance to get the lefty-hitting Frelick a breather Saturday. Isaac Collins, Blake Perkins and Jackson Chourio will start across the outfield while Frelick sits.

The lefty-hitting Frelick will retreat to the dugout while the Brewers run out a lineup of seven right-handed hitters and two switch hitters to counter southpaw Matthew Liberatore. Frelick went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Cardinals. Frelick resumed his hitting streak after getting a day off Thursday, and he's now homered in consecutive contests. He's hit safely in seven straight games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with eight RBI in that span. The outfielder is at a .295/.361/.417 slash line, 12 homers, 62 RBI, 75 runs scored and 19 stolen bases across 135 contests this year.

Frelick went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Angels. Frelick lifted his 11th homer of the season and his first since Aug. 28 versus Arizona. The speedy outfielder is riding a six-game hitting streak, during which he's racked up three extra-base hits and seven RBI. Frelick has been reliable as a table setter all year long for the first-place Brewers, batting .296 with 19 doubles, three triples, 61 RBI, 74 runs scored and 19 stolen bases over 134 games.
