Over his past 10 games, the catcher has three multi-hit efforts with five extra-base hits and 10 RBI. On the season, he is hitting .281 with 22 homers, 90 RBI, 94 runs scored and seven steals across 640 plate appearances.

Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks. Contreras started the past eight games and will receive a day off after going 9-for-27 with two doubles, two homers, eight RBI and six runs. Eric Haase will do the catching for left-hander DL Hall in the series finale.

He added an RBI double in the fourth a two-run home run in the ninth to log multiple RBI for the second time over 12 games in September. The catcher is hitting .231 (9-for-39) this month, but he still has a brilliant .280/.362/.470 slash line with 22 homers, 88 RBI, 94 runs scored and six stolen bases through a career-high 144 contests this season.

Contreras went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Rockies. Contreras took Ty Blach deep for a two-run homer in the third inning and set a new career high for homers in a season after he hit 20 in 2022 with Atlanta. Contreras' multi-hit effort broke him out of a 0-for-19 slump over his last six games. The 26-year-old catcher has found his power stroke as of late with 10 home runs since the beginning of August, including four in his last 10 starts.

Contreras isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals. Contreras will get a day to regroup Wednesday after going 0-for-14 with four strikeouts and five walks across his last four games. While he rests, Eric Haase will catch for right-hander Colin Rea and bat ninth.
