  • Mitchell is not in the lineup Thursday for Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series against the Mets. The Mets are starting a lefty for the second day in a row, and Mitchell has been out of the starting nine on both occasions. Mitchell came off the bench to deliver a go-ahead, two-run home run in the eighth inning of Game 2 and is a candidate to enter mid-game again Thursday when the Mets turn to a righty reliever. Blake Perkins is in center field and batting second in Game 3.

He's added a .256/.344/.472 slash line, eight home runs, 21 RBI and 33 runs scored over 68 games while serving as a strong-side platoon option in center field.

  • Mitchell is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies. With southpaw Ranger Suarez toeing the rubber for the Phillies, the lefty-hitting Mitchell will get a maintenance day. The Brewers will turn to Gary Sanchez to fill Mitchell's spot in the lineup, with Sanchez serving as Milwaukee's designated hitter and batting fifth.

  • Mitchell went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, three walks and three total runs scored in Saturday's 15-8 win over the Diamondbacks. Mitchell hadn't drawn a walk while going a poor 5-for-27 (.185) over his first nine games in September. He was able to turn things around with a huge performance Saturday in just his third game of the year from the cleanup spot. The outfielder is up to a .258/.349/.460 slash line with six homers, 17 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples through 57 contests this year.
