  • Sheehan revealed Monday that last week's right elbow surgery was an internal brace procedure, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The internal brace procedure typically allows for a shorter rehab than a traditional Tommy John surgery, although Sheehan noted Monday that he's been told to expect the rehab to last 13 months. That puts the young right-hander out until around the All-Star break next year.

  • The Dodgers announced that Sheehan (elbow) underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery Wednesday. Sheehan has been on the shelf all season with what the Dodgers had initially classified as right forearm inflammation. He had been cleared to face hitters in late March, only for the Dodgers to shut him down in mid-April after he experienced a setback in his recovery. A month after being shut down, the 24-year-old still wasn't responding to rest and rehab as well as the Dodgers had hoped, and after meeting with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, Sheehan was recommended for Tommy John surgery. He'll miss the rest of the 2024 season and a significant chunk of the 2025 season while he recovers from the procedure.

  • Sheehan (forearm) has been shut down from throwing by the Dodgers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Sheehan has been trying to work his way back from a forearm injury that he suffered in mid-March, but manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that the right-hander has been shut down for the time being. Sheehan's arm hasn't been "responding the way they've wanted it to," and it now appears unlikely that he'll have a shot at returning when eligible May 18.

  • Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: Moves to 60-day IL
    By RotoWire

The Dodgers transferred Sheehan (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Sheehan's move to the 60-day IL created a spot on the team's 40-man roster for Nabil Crismatt, whose contract was selected from Triple-A. The right-hander will now be sidelined until at least May 18 as he continues to work his way back from right forearm inflammation.

  • Sheehan (forearm) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday before potentially facing live hitters later in the week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The right-hander landed on the injured list ahead of the season-opening, two-game series against the Padres in South Korea last week, but he continues to progress in his throwing program. Sheehan will likely require multiple rehab appearances after facing live batters, so he's likely to be sidelined through the first few weeks of the season.
