The Pirates signed Solak to a minor-league contract Dec. 6. Solak, who turns 30 in January, slashed .311/.406/.446 with nine home runs and 10 stolen bases over 90 games at Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization in 2024. He has a career .252/.327/.372 batting line in parts of five major-league seasons.

Solak signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Tuesday and received an invitation to major-league spring training, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Solak spent all of last season in Triple-A, slashing .238/.353/.362 across 411 plate appearances between three different franchises. He'll have an opportunity to crack Seattle's Opening Day roster as a bench piece, but the 29-year-old outfielder is likely once again headed to Triple-A in 2024.

Solak cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Detroit designated Solak for assignment on Friday, but he'll remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old hasn't seen action in the big leagues this year and has a .709 OPS at the Triple-A level.

Solak was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Friday. This move frees up a 40-man roster spot for lefty reliever Andrew Vasquez, who was claimed off waivers from the Phillies. Solak appeared in only one major-league game during his two-month stay in the Tigers organization and was slashing .179/.328/.283 through 131 plate appearances with Triple-A Toledo.

Solak was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Monday. Solak was claimed off waivers last Friday and recalled Saturday but didn't receive a plate appearance. He's clearing out to make room for the return of Matt Vierling from the injured list.
