The Reds outrighted Yang to Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Yang had already been sent back to the minors last week after a brief stint with the Reds and has now been removed from the 40-man roster. He will remain in the organization as catching depth at Louisville.

The Reds optioned Yang to Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Yang served as Tyler Stephenson's backup while Luke Maile (back) and Austin Wynns (shoulder) were sidelined, but Maile is back now to reclaim that gig. The 26-year-old Yang struck out in his lone plate appearance.

The Reds selected Yang's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. He'll join the Reds' 26-man active roster as a replacement for backup catcher Austin Wynns, who was placed on the 10-day injured list after suffering a right teres major tear in Sunday's loss to the Rays. Yang, 26, is a glove-first catcher who slashed .164/.330/.205 over 28 games between Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga this season. While he's up with the Reds, Yang is expected to see limited action behind No. 1 backstop Tyler Stephenson.
