The Houston Astros have added pitchers Roberto Hernandez and Joe Thatcher to the Opening Day roster and designated pitcher Alex White for assignment, the team announced Saturday. Hernandez is set to open the season as the team's No. 5 starter in the rotation while Thatcher is likely to come out of the bullpen after signing a minor-league deal in February. Hernandez posted a 3.71 ERA with five strikeouts and seven walks in five appearances while Thatcher posted a 1.13 ERA with six strikeouts in nine appearances.
