Seven players outrighted by Marlins
The Miami Marlins outrighted the following players Monday: pitchers Kevin Slowey, Jose Ceda, Steven Ames and Zach Phillips, catcher Koyie Hill, first baseman Joe Mahoney and infielder Gil Velazquez . Each of the players played some portion of the 2013 season with the Marlins, except for Ceda, who continued to recover from Tommy John surgery.

Jose Ceda optioned to minors
Miami Marlins reliever Jose Ceda was sent outright to Triple-A New Orleans. The 26-year-old hurler spent most of the year recovering from Tommy John surgery. He's hoping to compete for a job in spring training next season for Miami.

Jose Ceda dominating on rehab assignment
Miami Marlins reliever Jose Ceda (Tommy John surgery) has been thriving since beginning a rehab assignment. After tossing two scoreless innings for the Gulf Coast League Marlins (rookie), Ceda has fired a scoreless inning for Class A Jupiter. Ceda has struck out five batters in three innings, while not allowing a hit or walk.

Jose Ceda still in recovery mode
Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Ceda was placed on the 60-day disabled list Sunday as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery he had last April. Ceda, who has not pitched in the majors since 2011, could factor into Miami's bullpen later in the season.

Ceda hoping to make roster
MLB.com reports Marlins reliever Jose Ceda, who had Tommy John surgery last April, is throwing without restrictions and could factor into the team's bullpen equation. "There is a chance to break camp with the big league team," Ceda said. "I feel really good."
