Barry Enright: Transitions to coaching
Barry R. Enright accepted a job as the pitching coach for the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday, effectively ending his playing career, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.Enright, who hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013, will officially call it quits in order to pursue a career in coaching. The 32-year-old posted a combined 5.57 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across parts of four big-league seasons (148.2 innings) with the Diamondbacks and Angels.

Barry Enright was acquired by the Colorado Rockies on Thursday, Purple Row reports.After being acquired by Colorado, Enright was assigned to Triple-A Albuquerque. Barry Enright signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.The 30-year-old hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013, where he struggled with the Angels, posting a 12.96 ERA across 8.1 innings. He did post a 1.1 BB/9 ratio in the Mexican League last season, but he will still likely start in Triple-A and serve more as a depth piece.
