Juan Francisco: Released by Baltimore
Juan Francisco was released last week from his minor-league contract with the Orioles, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.After failing to win a reserve gig with the Orioles coming out of spring training, Francisco didn't report to a minor-league affiliate and will now be cleared to find a new employer. Francisco hasn't surfaced in the big leagues since 2014, when he slashed .220/.291/.456 over 320 plate appearances with the Blue Jays.

Juan Francisco agreed to a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.Francisco hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2014 and spent his 2015 campaign playing overseas in Japan. During his last big league season, Francisco slashed .220/.291/.456 and hit 16 home runs over 320 plate appearances with the Blue Jays. He will likely serve as organizational corner infield depth for the Orioles.
