Dylan Axelrod: Ends playing career
Dylan Axelrod announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he has retired from professional baseball.Axelrod last appeared in affiliated ball in 2016, when he logged 133.1 innings for the Marlins' Triple-A affiliate in New Orleans. The 34-year-old right-hander spent parts of five seasons in the majors with the White Sox and Reds from 2011 through 2015, logging a 5.27 ERA across 59 outings (34 starts). He'll stay involved with the game in his retirement, as he's accepted a position as a pitching coordinator in the Angels organization.

Marlins' Dylan Axelrod: Reassigned to minor league camp
Dylan Axelrod was reassigned to minor league camp Wednesday.Axelrod spent most of 2015 in the minor leagues where he went 6-8 with a 4.68 ERA at Triple-A Louisville. He had a brief stint with the Reds in which he was roughed up to the tune of a 7.30 ERA over 12.3 innings pitched. The 30-year-old has only pitched in 11 MLB games over the past two seasons, and it is unlikely that he sees significant time with the Miami Marlins in 2016.

Dylan Axelrod signed a minor league deal with the Miami Marlins that includes an invite to Spring Training, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.Axelrod spent the last two seasons with the Reds, where he logged just over 30 innings in the majors. Over 105.2 frames at the Triple-A level, the right-hander posted a 4.68 ERA and 5.88 K/9. He'll look to catch on in a new organization, and the Marlins will benefit from a low-risk deal.

Reds call up Sam LeCure; option Dylan Axelrod
The Cincinnati Reds called up pitcher Sam LeCure and optioned pitcher Dylan Axelrod to the minor leagues on Wednesday, the team announced. LeCure had a 3.81 ERA over 56 2/3 innings last season while Axelrod produced a 7.30 ERA over 12 1/3 innings this season.
