Trevor Cahill: Released by Mets
Trevor Cahill was let go by the Mets on Saturday.Cahill signed a minor-league deal in May with hopes of potentially providing depth to an injured Mets rotation. After putting up a disappointing 6.52 ERA and 2.30 WHIP over 19.1 innings with Triple-A Syracuse, the organization deemed Cahill expendable. If another team decides to afford the veteran an opportunity, it will almost certainly be in the form of another minor-league deal.
