    Pedro Ciriaco was traded to Miami on Friday in exchange for Erik Jokisch, John Blake of TexasRangers.com reports.Ciriaco has spent all of the 2016 season with Triple-A Round Rock where he's compiled a .268/.297/.320 slash line over 51 games. The 30-year-old will likely head to Triple-A New Orleans now where he'll resume his season in new scenery.

The contract includes a spring training invite.The veteran spent last season with the Braves organization, seeing time in 84 major league contests while appearing in 26 minor league games. Ciriaco hit .261 with 15 RBI and eight doubles for the Braves while playing all over the infield, in addition to making a couple of appearances in the outfield.     The Atlanta Braves got a boost from the bottom of the order as shortstop Pedro Ciriaco drove in four runs from the No. 9 hole, but it wasn't enough in a 9-6 loss to the Rays.  The normally light-hitting Ciriaco drove in two runs with a second-inning single and then connected for his first home run of the season in the fifth. His seventh inning sacrifice fly put Atlanta ahead 5-3, though the Braves would squander that advantage.  Ciriaco's big night gives him 15 RBIs on the season.

    Braves' Pedro Ciriaco comes through big off the bench Sunday

    Atlanta Braves infielder Pedro Ciriaco came through with the game's only run in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Mets. Ciriaco came off the bench in the seventh inning with a runner on second.  The light-hitting Ciriaco blooped a single into center field, allowing the only run to cross the plate. Despite getting limited playing time, Ciriaco has been invaluable for the Braves this year. He's hitting .474 (9 for 19) with six RBI through 10 games this month.

Ciriaco started Sunday's game at shortstop, but will slide over to the hot corner with Phil Gosselin lost for at least two months with a thumb injury. The light-hitting Ciriaco is batting second in the order on Tuesday. He does have three hits in seven at-bats this season, with all of them going for extra bases (two doubles and a triple).
