    Cincinnati Reds reliever Trevor Bell, on the DL since April 8 with an elbow injury, tossed one scoreless inning in his first rehab outing for Triple-A Louisville, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. Bell struck out one and walked one.

    Cincinnati Reds reliever Trevor Bell underwent an MRI on his injured elbow and was told his injury would not require surgery, MLB.com reports Friday. He is expected to spend at least the next two weeks doing rehab work, according to the report.

    The Cincinnati Reds announced Tuesday they activated reliever Jonathan Broxton (forearm) off the 15-day disabled list. To clear a roster spot, reliever Trevor Bell went on the disabled list because of elbow inflammation.

    Three Reds added to opening day roster

    The Cincinnati Reds have added outfielder Roger Bernadina , infielder Ramon Santiago and pitcher Trevor Bell to the opening day roster.  All three players had their contracts purchased from Triple-A Sunday. Bernadina tore up spring ball, hitting .413 with three home runs. Bell posted a 1.04 ERA over 8 2/3 innings. Santiago didn't perform well at the plate, but is expected to be an asset with the glove at a number of infield spots.

    Tigers swipe players off roster

    The Detroit Tigers made a host of roster moves Tuesday, optioning pitchers Duane Below, Jose Ortega and catcher Bryan Holaday to Triple-A Toledo and optioning second baseman Hernan Perez to Double-A Erie. Detroit also reassigned outfielders Nick Castellanos and Tyler Collins, shortstop Argenis Diaz and pitcher Trevor Bell to its minor-league camp.

    Halos release minor-leaguer Bell

    The Angels announced Thursday that they have released former first-rounder Trevor Bell, who was pitching with Triple-A Salt Lake. He last appeared in the majors in 2011, when he posted a 3.41 ERA in 19 relief appearances.
