    Nick Hagadone: Released by Seattle

Nick Hagadone was released by the Mariners on Tuesday. It seems that Hagadone, who was pitching in relief for Triple-A Tacoma, was let go to pursue other opportunities rather than as a result of poor performance. He hadn't allowed a run in his last 9.2 innings with Tacoma and is carrying a 3.51 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 33.1 frames on the season. Hagadone, who last appeared in the majors in 2015 with the Indians, will likely attempt to land another minor-league deal with an organization that offers a clearer path back to the big leagues.

Indians RP Nick Hagadone will get second opinion on elbow

The Cleveland Indians are fearing the worst when it comes to relief pitcher Nick Hagadone and the injury he sustained to his left elbow during a Class A rehab outing on Wednesday, per MLB.com. Hagadone had the elbow examined after suffering the injury and is in the process of getting a second opinion. "He threw a pitch and felt it. He was examined and it's not good," manager Terry Francona said. "We'll have more when we have more, but he looks like he hurt it pretty good." Hagadone is no stranger to elbow injuries, he required reconstructive Tommy John surgery in 2008. "Let's let him go get his second opinion, which is important," Francona said.
