White Sox's Giovanni Soto: Released by White Sox
Giovanni Soto was released by Chicago on Friday.Soto never made an appearance with the major-league club during his time in the organization, and was let go after competing with Triple-A Charlotte since the start of the season. He had posted a 4.30 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with a 31:10 K:BB through 23 innings of work with the Knights. Soto will look to join his fifth organization in under a year after bouncing around the minor leagues the last few seasons. The 26-year-old has not thrown a pitch in the majors since he was with the Indians in 2015.
