    Vinnie Pestano: Released Tuesday

    Vinnie Pestano was released from his contract with the Yankees on Tuesday, LoHud.com reports.Pestano hadn't pitched since April after landing on the minor league disabled list, but he's now healthy and free to sign with a new team. In eight appearances this season, the 31-year-old worked to a 3.38 ERA with an impressive 16:1 K:BB over 10.2 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

    Vinnie Pestano was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday.He struggled in 19 appearances with the Angels last year and did nothing to help himself this spring, allowing five runs in four Grapefruit League innings. With the additions the New York Yankees made to the bullpen this offseason, it's hard to imagine Pestano taking on much of a role at any point in 2016.

    Angels recall RP Vinne Pestano from Triple-A on Friday

    The Los Angeles Angels have recalled right-hander Vinnie Pestano from Triple-A Salt Lake City on Friday, according to the Orange County Register. Pestano started the year up with the Angels, but was sent down to the minors at the end of May.  Pestano has not been overly sharp in Triple-A, posting a 4.41 ERA in 16 1/3 innings of relief. But the Angels are in need of a fresh arm in the bullpen with closer Huston Street unavailable due to injury.

    Angels option RP Vinnie Pestano to Triple-A

    The Los Angeles Angels have optioned pitcher Vinnie Pestano to Triple-A Salt Lake City on Friday. The right-hander owns a 4.22 ERA in 10 2/3 innings. He walked eight and struck out 13 batters over 17 relief appearances this season. "I haven’t been able to get out of situations very well," Pestano said, per the Orange County Register. "I pride myself on inherited runners and not cashing them in. It’s been awful. It’s disappointing and embarrassing." The Angels called up infielder/outfielder Efren Navarro to take Pestano's place on the 25-man roster.

    Angels' Salas, Ramos, Pestano and Morin self-destruct in loss

    Los Angeles Angels relievers Fernando Salas, Cesar Ramos, Vinnie Pestano and Mike Morin all had poor outings in Thursday night’s 9-2 loss to the Athletics. After Jered Weaver went six innings and gave up one run, Salas put runners on first and third to start the seventh. Ramos came in and immediately gave up an RBI single to Stephen Vogt. Pestano then took over and immediately threw a wild pitch that scored a runner. He then gave up a homer to Billy Butler and later gave up an RBI single to Brett Lawrie. Salas was credited with the loss. He's now 0-1 this season.  Morin then allowed three runs in the eighth inning.

    Angels agree to one-year deal with pitcher Vinnie Pestano

    The Los Angeles Angels avoided arbitration with pitcher Vinnie Pestano after agreeing to a one-year, $1.15 million contract with the relief pitcher. The Angels acquired Pestano in an August trade for prospect Michael Clevinger. In 2014, Pestano made 25 appearnces and produced a 2.89 ERA over 18 2/3 innings with 26 strikeouts.

    Angels decide on September call-ups

    The Los Angeles Angels have added six players to the September roster, accordign to the Los Angeles Times. The team called up pitchers Cam Bedrosian, Wade LeBlanc, Vinnie Pestano and Cory Rasmus today. Outfielders Brennan Boesch and Tony Campana were also promoted to the major-league club.  The team also added John Buck, C.J. Cron, Shawn O'Malley, Luis Jimenez and Efren Navarro .
