    Utility player Jerry Hairston has retired and signed a deal to be a television analyst for the Dodgers, according to 670 The Score. Hairston spent the last two seasons with the Dodgers and played for eight other teams over his 16-year major league career. He finished with a career .257 batting average and 147 stolen bases.

    Several Dodgers become free agents

    Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Juan Uribe, starting pitcher Edinson Volquez, relief pitcher Brian Wilson, third baseman Michael Young, utility player Jerry Hairston, relief pitcher J.P. Howell, relief pitcher Carlos Marmol, starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco, infielder Nick Punto and utility player Skip Schumaker have filed for free agency. They join second baseman Mark Ellis, who had his team option declined, and starting pitcher Chris Capuano, who had his mutual option declined.

    Jerry Hairston healthy enough for postseason

    Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Jerry Hairston, who has a back injury, took batting practice Tuesday, MLB.com reports. Hairston also shagged fly balls and reported no issues. Out since Sept. 25 due to a sore back, Hairston appears to be ready to play in the National League Division Series. That said, he might not make the final roster. "We'll see," Mattingly said when asked about Hairston's status for the NLDS. "We're still going over the roster and seeing how everything fits with who we have, don't have, what guys can do, can't do and then trying to put our best club together."

    Jerry Hairston activated, starting

    Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Jerry Hairston was activated from the disabled list Monday and is in the starting lineup against the Angels. Hairston had been on the disabled list since May 5 due to groin and knee injuries. The team has not announced a corresponding move to make room for Hairston on the active roster.

    Contrary to prior reports, Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Jerry Hairston Jr. won't be activated Sunday, MLB.com reports. Hairston was initially reported as back in the lineup Sunday. Chances are he returns soon, but it'll have to waitat least another day.

    The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated utility man Jerry Hairston from the disabled list, the Los Angeles Times reports. Hairston has been dealing with groin and knee injuries since May 5. Look for him to back up for the Dodgers all around the diamond.

    Jerry Hairston could return Sunday

    Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Jerry Hairston could return to the lineup Sunday if everything goes well with Saturday's rehab game, MLB.com reports. "We'll get Jerry back fairly soon here," manager Don Mattingly told MLB.com Saturday afternoon. "He'll play another day and then we'll make a decision. He says he's ready and medical is basically saying one more day." Hairston is recovering from a groin strain and tendinitis in his left knee.

    Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Jerry Hairston is set to begin his minor-league rehab assignment Friday at Class A Rancho Cucamonga, as he continues to recovery from knee tendinitis. Hairston will play third base and bat second. It is not known how long he will stay on his rehab assignment, after being on the disabled list since May 6 and already suffering a setback in his recovery last week.

    Jerry Hairston didn't have MRI

    The Los Angeles Times amended an update to Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Jerry Hairston's status Monday. Hairston did not undergo an MRI exam. He has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his knee, however.
