Tsuyoshi Wada is close to signing a deal with the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks to return to Japan, the Japan Times reports.Wada played for Fukuoka in Japan from 2003 to 2011 before leaving for the Cubs in 2012. It looks like Wada has decided to finish his career in Japan.

Chicago Cubs left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada was activated from the disabled list. He was then subsequentley optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, according to ESPN.com. Wada had been sidelined with inflammation in his left deltoid muscle, and hasn't pitched with the Cubs since June 22. He was 1-1 with a 3.73 ERA in seven starts before going down with the injury.

Chicago Cubs right-hander Tsuyoshi Wada has moved his minor league rehab assignment to Triple-A Iowa. On Saturday, Wada made the start for the Iowa Cubs, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over four innings. Wada has been on the disabled list with a shoulder injury since June 28. He hasn't pitched for the Cubs since June 22, but he does own a 3.73 ERA in seven starts this season.

Chicago Cubs right-hander Tsuyoshi Wada will not make his start on Saturday against the Cardinals. Wada is nursing a sore deltoid muscle that caused him to exit his most recent start on Monday early. He was hopeful to be able to pitch on Saturday, but now the team is hopeful he'll be able to make his next start on Friday against the Marlins. "The thing about Wada is that we’re still not 100 percent sure where that is right now — I don’t know how bad he is," manager Joe Maddon said, per MLB.com. "He’s doing better. It’s not awful. We’re just concerned that it’s not progressing to the point where we have a definite answer." Minor-leaguer Donn Roach will be called up to make the start on Saturday in St. Louis.
